Maja Gutman Mušič is a researcher at the intersection of dream studies, philosophical anthropology, and computational text analysis. Her Fulbright postdoctoral fellowship at UCLA (2021) focused on bridging conceptual frameworks of dreaming with NLP methodologies for large-scale dream corpus analysis, resulting in work published in Consciousness and Cognition.
Her digital monograph 2020 Dreams: Toward a New Understanding of the Dreaming–Waking Continuum (Stanford University Press, 2023) demonstrates her capacity to combine computational approaches with cross-cultural humanistic inquiry at scale. Her work has been supported by the U.S. National Science Foundation, the Fulbright Program, and ARIS.
She has recently presented the Dream Atlas project at the Science of Consciousness conference (Barcelona, 2025) and the MIT Dream × Engineering Symposium at MIT Media Lab (2026).
